Identification of Bodies Found in Lake Mead Amid Drought

The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified two of the three bodies found in Lake Mead as a result of the ongoing drought in the area. The first body has been identified as that of a missing hiker, 33-year-old Gio Gonzales. The second body has been identified as that of a 25-year-old Las Vegas resident named Anthony Nguyen.

 

The drought has caused Lake Mead's water levels to drop to historic lows, revealing previously submerged areas and increasing the likelihood of discovering bodies. The third body found in the lake has not yet been identified, but the coroner's office is working to determine their identity.
